PingChain

PingChain ("we", "us") builds a smart-identity platform for physical belongings. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. We're in beta and will update this policy as the product evolves.

Information we collect

Account data — your email address, used for passwordless sign-in and account recovery.
Tag profiles — information you choose to add to a tag (display name, item label, note to finders, contact details, reward, emergency contact, travel status). You control all of it.
Finder messages — messages and optional contact/location a finder submits when they scan your tag.
Scan + usage data — when a tag is scanned we record a timestamp and basic, non-identifying request metadata (approximate device/browser). Our analytics are cookieless.
Waitlist — if you join the waitlist, your email is stored so we can notify you at launch.

How we use it

To operate the recovery experience — showing the right profile when a tag is scanned and delivering finder messages to you.
To authenticate you and keep your account secure.
To send transactional email (sign-in codes, recovery notifications) and, if you opt in, product updates.
To understand aggregate usage and improve the product.

What a finder can see

A public scan page only shows the information you explicitly enable. Your email and phone are hidden unless you turn them on. You can edit or remove your profile, or put a tag into Lost Mode, at any time.

Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers that help us run PingChain (such as hosting, database, and email delivery) under appropriate confidentiality obligations, or when required by law.

Data retention & your rights

You can access, update, or delete your profile and account data. To request deletion or ask a question about your data, contact us at privacy@pingchain.com.
